Finding Religion Workshop
This past Friday and Saturday CURA hosted a group of social science scholars from across the country for a two day workshop entitled Finding Religion: Reconsidering Concepts and Methods for Studying Religion. In this workshop, participants considered the best practices that social scientists are currently using to “find religion,” and the ways in which scholars are exploring the diverse manifestations of the phenomena called “religion.”
The participants shared critical feedback on submitted papers, with an edited volume to come. Faculty members from several BU departments and schools lent their expertise to the group, including Kim Arkin, Bob Hefner, Rob Weller, Nimi Wariboko, Jeff Rubin, Nicolette Manglos Weber, Jonathan Calvillo, Teena Purohit and David Decosimo.
The project and workshop are directed by Jeremy Menchik and Tim Longman.
