BU’s Digital Business Institute Partners with Siemens to Develop Executive Education Programs

The Digital Business Institute is pleased to announce a new executive education partnership with Siemens, a German multinational conglomerate headquartered in Munich. The custom program will provide critical knowledge on business ecosystems and platforms, developed for the company’s top 200 leaders. Designed by BU Questrom professors Marshall Van Alstyne and Andrei Hagiu, the 2-day program will be delivered in six sessions at Siemens locations during the Fall of 2020.

Questrom Professor in Management Marshall Van Alstyne is a leading expert in platform business models and was recently honored with the Thinkers50 Digital Thinking Award. The Thinkers50 awards, dubbed the “Oscars of Management Thinking” by the Financial Times, recognize business thought leaders from around the world. He also co-authored the international bestselling book Platform Revolution, a comprehensive analysis of how platforms use technology to match producers and consumers in a multisided marketplace.

Andrei Hagiu, Questrom associate professor of information systems and associate director of Questrom’s platforms initiative, was recently included in the Thinkers50 Radar Class of 2020 for his work on the unique challenges of multisided platform businesses. He is recognized as “leading the next generation of thinking on platforms.”

“This is a great example of how we, as the Questrom community, can connect with corporate partners to provide strategic business value,” said Peter Howard, Executive Director of BU’s Digital Business Institute.
