Welcome, Dr. Salem

Boston University Dental Health Center is delighted to welcome its newest orthodontist, Dr. Karim Salem.
Prior to joining BU Dental Health Center, Dr. Salem worked in private orthodontic practice in Damascus, Syria. He served at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston as both an Orthodontic and Radiology Instructor during his residency.
In addition to his vast clinical experience, Dr. Salem continues to pursue research in the Department of Orthodontics at Tufts University, where he completed his certificate in orthodontics.
He holds a doctor of dental surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Damascus School of Dental Medicine. He completed a fellowship in maxillofacial surgery at Ibn al Nafis Hospital in Damascus. He is certified in both Invisalign and CPR.
While at the University of Damascus, he received the Dean’s Award for High Academic and Clinical Achievement. He is the recipient of the 2004 Orthodontic Syrian Society Award. He is a member of both the American Dental Society and the American Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Salem is trained in classical Spanish guitar and enjoys playing basketball.
