Mohammed Nadershah OMFS 11 Takes Home Top Honors for Research Poster

Mohammed Nadershah OMFS 11 won the best poster award at the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ACOMS) 32nd Annual Scientific Conference and Exhibition, held in Las Vegas from April 3 to 5. The title of his poster was, "Venous Anastomoses Using Microvascular Coupler in Free Flap Head and Neck Reconstruction."

Nadershah explained, “The research presented is a retrospective study that compares the coupler device against the traditional hand-sewn technique for microvascular venous anastomoses in head and neck reconstruction with free flaps.”

Assistant Professor Dr. Andrew Salama served as Nadershah’s mentor for this research. As a result of winning Nadershah will have his related research abstract published in an upcoming edition of Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontology  the official journal of the ACOMS.
