Nothing Personal Wins Flag Football Intramurals and Places Fifth in Regional Championship

The men’s intramural flag football team, Nothing Personal, and its Co-Rec team won the 2012 intramurals this past weekend, claiming the top spot in both the Men’s AA Championship and the Co-Rec Championship on Sunday, November 11, 2012.

Nothing Personal team members included DMD students: Andrew Brattain, Eamon Chory, Christopher Connell (co-captain), David Garazi (co-captain), Matthew Garcia, Ibrahim Lakkis, and Ramandeep Samra.

Nothing Personal’s Co-Rec team included DMD students: Andrew Brattain, Chris Connell (co-captain), Danielle Fernandez, David Garazi (co-captain), Tina Giannacopoulos, Ibrahim Lakkis, Keely Matheson, Jessica Metcalfe, Ramandeep Samra, and Cara Seidel.

Nothing Personal (including Joshua Gilbert, who is a member of the traveling team) also placed fifth at the National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) National Campus Championship Series Northeast Regional Flag Football Championship at Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts, on Sunday, November 4.

“All of the guys contributed in every win,” said Co-Captain Chris Connell. “It was definitely a team effort. We do plan on attending the tournament again next year with every intention of winning.”

Dean Jeffrey W. Hutter applauded both teams on their achievements. “Congratulations to both Nothing Personal teams on your wins. It’s a testament to your abilities both as individuals, and as teams.”
