aPolicy on Student Absence Due to Religious Observance: The dental school remains open during religious holidays. University policy requires faculty and staff to accommodate students who are absent due to religious observance and to provide them with a reasonable opportunity to make up coursework missed due to their religious observance, if such accommodation does not create an unreasonable burden. If a student intends to be absent for a religious holiday, it is imperative that the relevant faculty and staff be notified well in advance. It should be noted that days absent from the program for religious purposes will normally be counted as use of students’ personal vacation days. The complete university policy can be found at http://www.bu.edu/ctl/university-policies/policy-onreligious-observance/ .
