Verification
The GSDM Registrar’s Office provides verification services for current students, alumni, and former students. Forms of verification offered by our office include, but are not limited to:
- Enrollment
- In-School loan deferment
- Program completion
- Graduation
- State licensure
Graduating students: Please note that verification of program completion requests can only be processed after completion of the signout process. Verification of graduation requests can only be processed on or after the official graduation/conferral date.
Requests are normally processed within three business days.
How to Request a Verification
- Current students must request verifications online via the GSDM Portal (Kerberos login required).
- If you are off campus: log-on to the VPN before going to the GSDM Portal (Kerberos login/password required for both links).
- Alumni must submit requests in writing by submitting the linked Verification Request Form. A secure digital signature is required. You will be asked to validate your email address.
- Third-party credentialers must request verification of enrollment and/or degree via the National Student Clearinghouse.
- Verifications typically include information that the University has designated as directory information; therefore, a consent to disclosure is not required. If the verification requires information not considered directory information, or if the student/alumni has requested data restriction, a written request, along with signed consent to disclosure, is required before the verification can be processed.
Verification Delivery Options
Verifications are available in paper or electronic format. Delivery options:
- Email (no cost to student/alumni)
- On-campus pick-up (no cost to student/alumni)
- By appointment. At the time of pick-up, a valid photo ID is required.
- Standard USPS mail (no cost to student/alumni)
- FedEx via eSHIP Global (shipping fees will apply).
- Sign up for an account and log in.
- Click “Receive documents from Universities,” search Boston University, and select Boston University Dental School.
- Enter your FedEx delivery address (no PO Boxes; overnight to Canada not available). Note that the system defaults to your account address. You must change it if the document is not being shipped to you.
- Choose a FedEx service, complete payment, and submit.
- Once submitted, you will receive confirmation and tracking information by email.
