Kelly Sayre

Assistant Professor of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Dr. Sayre is an assistant professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM). Dr. Sayre specializes in head and neck oncology and microvascular reconstructive surgery. She is a full-time academic head and neck surgeon, and her clinical interests include oral oncology, pathology of the mouth and jaws, head and neck microvascular surgery, and comprehensive reconstructive surgery of the mouth, face, and jaws including surgical management of post-traumatic facial deformities. She provides surgical care for patients at Boston Medical Center.

Dr. Sayre completed her undergraduate degree at Pepperdine University in California. She graduated valedictorian from dental school at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. She completed medical school and residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She then completed a fellowship in head and neck oncology and microvascular reconstructive surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham under the guidance of Drs. Anthony Morlandt and Yedeh Ying. Her research interests include improving outcomes in oral oncology, optimizing free tissue transfer, and resident education. She has an interest in mentorship and serves on the AAOMS Women in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Consortium.

Dr. Sayre grew up in Beaverton Oregon, where her family still lives. She enjoys running, hiking, camping, and gardening.
