The State of Anti-Trans Legislation
- Starts: 12:00 pm on Monday, June 12, 2023
- Ends: 1:30 pm on Monday, June 12, 2023
Featuring: Olivia Hunt and Kris Tassone from the National Center for Transgender Equality
In the first 5 months of 2023, there has been a deluge of about 500 anti-LGBTQIA+ bills introduced across 46 states. Much of the proposed legislation targets trans and nonbinary people, from overt discrimination to narrowing how sex and gender is defined and expressed. The legislation targets gender-affirming health care, K-12 and higher education, student athletics, public libraries, bathroom access, drag performance, and many other LGBTQIA+ rights.
Join us in learning about the current state of anti-trans legislation with National Center for Transgender Equality’s (NCTE) Olivia Hunt (she/her), Director of Policy, and Kris Tassone (they/them), Policy Counsel. They will discuss the onslaught of anti-trans legislation, what is happening locally and nationally in response, and ways to address the realities of anti-trans sentiments and movements that are happening across the United States.
This will be an informative, important, and timely program that is not to be missed. Allies are encouraged to attend.
