Jewish & Israeli Faculty & Staff Community Network

The Boston University Jewish & Israeli Faculty & Staff Community Network’s mission is to catalyze, foster, and promote a deeper sense of community among individuals who identify as Jewish or Israeli—and their allies. We plan social gatherings, discuss current events, and create programming designed to educate the broader Boston University community on the need to eradicate antisemitism in all its forms and encourage vibrant Jewish life at BU. We aim to create a supportive environment for Jews to build community while developing social, educational, and programmatic partnerships on campus to raise awareness about the Jewish experience. We seek to be a safe space for all Jews. We are committed to serving all persons who identify as Jews, including but not limited to those who are also members in other groups, such as persons of color, LBGTQIA+, and persons with disabilities, and will engage with other FSCNs on issues of mutual interest. The Jewish FSCN, through its dedication to supporting a strong, connected community, will help to ensure that Boston University remains an institution where the differences between members of the BU community are understood to be a source of mutual power, insight, and effectiveness.

Membership of the Jewish & Israeli FSCN is open to all faculty and staff of the Jewish community at Boston University, and allies of this community. Membership includes people of all Jewish identities, denominations, and religious and cultural customs.
