Muslim, Arab, and Palestinian Alliance

The Muslim, Arab, and Palestinian Alliance (MAPA) is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive community for faculty and staff at Boston University who identify as Muslim, Arab, Palestinian, Persian, Turkish, Armenian, Assyrian, or other Middle Eastern backgrounds, as well as their allies. MAPA welcomes individuals from any background and intersectional identities including but not limited to individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+ or represent diverse faith and race or ethnic backgrounds. Our mission is to create a space where members can share their experiences, build meaningful connections, find solidarity in difficult times, and celebrate their cultural heritage. Our network aims to serve as a hub for information and resources and organize a range of activities, including social gatherings, professional networking and mentoring opportunities, cultural celebrations, and discussions on issues relevant to our community.

By promoting a sense of community and collaboration, MAPA aims to enhance the academic and social fabric of Boston University. Through our dedication to creating a strong, connected community, MAPA helps ensure that Boston University remains a place where the diverse identities and experiences of its members are protected, celebrated, and valued.
