Boston Ujima Project is a support for and by BIPOC communities in Boston. Through weekly Political + Financial Workshops, Ujima investigates the feasibility of implementing needs that have been voiced by community members. It is democratically governed by Black, brown, and indigenous members through voting. I have been a member and co-organizer since the summer of 2018, Ujima is a unique activist approach to community engagement and needs with direct action. It has been a space where you can uplift and be tethered to community care. I am invested in Ujima because it is an active form of community preservation, growth, and sustainability.
