FitTreks has helped me be physically active on and off campus, as well as meet new people and make friends in the outdoors. Most of the time, a gym setting can be really socially intimidating for me, and I like that the outdoors creates space for me to be myself and try new things with the support of other people. The FitTreks staff is really kind and fun to be around. Most of their trips don't require any prior experience in that activity (i.e., rock climbing, hiking, kayaking, etc.), so they are very welcoming of people with different abilities and backgrounds. Sometimes their trips are a little expensive, but they do provide some trips for low cost and sometimes even free.
