Father John, the pastor, gives homilies that are inclusive and engaging. The culture of St. Cecilia's Parish is centered around the virtues of love and community. All people are welcome, no matter your race, culture, sexual orientation, martial/divorce status, etc. There are even groups specifically for LGBTQ Catholics to find community. St. C's is also social justice focused and has many ministries for those who want to put their faith into action.

I will go here for Mass sometimes if I am not able to make the 12:30 or 6 pm Masses at Marsh Chapel, and I really enjoy it. It is associated with the Jesuits, and the priests always have something interesting to say about faith and living the Gospel. It is a beautiful church and you can walk there from BU or take the T to Hynes Convention Center.

There are numerous ways to get involved with the church and the community. I joined the young adult group and have met many people at social gatherings (apple picking, hiking, retreats) and events (happy hour, game night) that the group organizes, which has helped me become more social. In addition, there are many ways to help in the community, the young adult group as well as the church advertises this in their weekly bulletin as well as in emails. I have helped with organizations and it's made it easier to find places to volunteer such as Community Servings, Boston Healthcare for the Homeless, etc. The community also gets together after mass with coffee and treats or pizza. This is a great way to strengthen one's faith as well as meet new people and have fun.
