Saida Grundy is assistant professor of sociology and African American studies at Boston University. Her research includes examinations of masculinity, “social justice capitalism,” and campus sexual assault. What she finds most attractive about Boston is the breadth and depth of its intellectual life. “Being a young woman in the city has been very promising. There’s a certain type of mind and type of spirit that really feeds from folks we have here. . . . I have not regretted a second.”
