Population Health Exchange (PHX)
Public health is a dynamic field, encompassing scientific, economic, social, and contextual factors that affect the health of populations. Public health professionals across the globe need a place to engage in educational experiences in flexible user‐centered formats. Engineers, urban planners, sociologists, doctors, architects and others need a space where they can infuse a population health perspective into their thinking.
The School of Public Health (SPH) is committed to lifelong learning and accessibility in education. SPH developed a digital portal to organize and deliver a variety of learning opportunities in public health. The digital portal is called the Population Health Exchange (PHX), it includes for-credit and not for credit courses, online and in-person experiences, workshops, interactive case studies, and other programs and tools. The portal houses flexible educational resources to enhance our residential programs and allow our alumni and new groups of learners to stay current and learn new skills in public health.
PHX offers learning opportunities for several audiences: SPH alumni hoping to continue their public health education; professionals seeking refresher training courses; peers from other sectors; external organizations; the surrounding Boston community; and people new to the field, aspiring to learn about population health sciences.
PHX embodies SPH’s commitment to education about population health. As its organizing portal, populationhealthexchange.org is designed to engage a diverse range of learners for life in Boston and across the world.
