What is Blue?

Blue by Explorance is the course evaluation software that has been chosen for Boston University. Blue is not just a typical survey software, it is designed to be a user-friendly course evaluation software that includes integrations with student demographic data, automated data collection, and a robust reporting engine to generate reports that will offer insight into student success and data trends.

Who Can Use It?

Blue can be used by students and faculty at Boston University.  Currently, the BU Medical Campus does not utilize Blue.

Ways to Use Blue in the Classroom:

Blue allows for the digital collection of course feedback from students.  In the past, collection of course feedback was done using bubble sheets, which was a costly and time-consuming process.  With Blue, evaluations can be available in a much shorter time frame.  Students can access the evaluations via their smartphone, tablet, or laptop.

• Less costly than paper evaluations
• Faster deployment and collections of evaluations versus paper bubble sheets
• Can integrate demographic data from the SIS*

• Ability to send out reminders to students who have not yet responded to ensure higher response rates

*SIS will be online at a later date, but Blue will fully integrate with SIS at that time
