Explore Extended Reality in the Classroom

Extended Reality (XR) is advancing rapidly and according to industry experts, the future of learning and workplace training is connected to immersive learning technology.

Digital Learning & Innovation has seen a surge of interest and Incubator proposals from Schools and Colleges across Boston University looking to explore augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality (MR), and integrate these technologies into the teaching and learning experience.

With a quest for innovation and community-building in mind, DL&I, in partnership with the Center for Teaching & Learning and Educational Technology teams, and other BU Schools and Colleges, are exploring the XR space via innovative pilot projects, conferences, faculty demonstrations, learning communities, and more.

Connect with a Learning Community

The DL&I AR/VR Learning Community, which collaborates synchronously and asynchronously, has three focus areas:

Exploring how virtual reality technology is being piloted at BU.

Experiencing the technology via hands-on and interactive education; build technical skills and investigate ways to incorporate XR into practice.

Engaging with BU faculty, Educational Technologists and Instructional Designers; share your vision, ask questions, and collaborate with BU colleagues and XR early adopters.
