Coffee and Conversation – Running the Country from the MA

Hail! Hail! Massachusetts is the talk of the nation.  I always say we’re ahead of the nation, but in wow –- we’re sending a Republican to the Senate at a crucial moment.  Joy? Some say we finally entered the rest of the world.  Others are hand-wringing and embarrassed.

Apparently we like to make statement and made a big one.  We sent a message to the nation.  What’s the frequency, Massachusetts? Apparently, this election was about something other than electing a new senator? What? Anger over a healthcare conversation in Washington? Anger or an economy in need of new jobs and the lack of tax cuts? Anger over banks that won’t buck up and pay us back  Anger over too little liberal ideology? Or,  were we just angry at the other candidate that just wouldn’t show us enough love?

College students and young people in Massachusetts had another chance to participate in a big, newsworthy moment — were you in? What does the Tuesday vote in Massachusetts mean? Anything? This Friday, let’s talk about the Massachusetts message.  Proudly, tell the world you’re from The MA, and meet up un the Howard Thurman Center from 3-5 p.m.  I’ll bring plenty of coffee and cookies, you bring tour conversation.

Peace.

PS We’re trying our best to stay up with sustainability efforts on campus.  Be sure to bring a cup, mug, glass, vase, tough hands, thimble, shoe, or some creative vessel to hold your beverage.
