Student Spotlight: Andrew Hoang, ENG ’18

Meet Andrew! Andrew is a Freshman in ENG majoring in Computer Engineering. Coming from nearby the suburban town of Acton, MA, Andrew loves the city environment Boston provides.

Andrew plays for the BU Men’s Soccer team, where things are extremely exciting. This past fall, a fellow teammate of his went professional. The bar is set high with the level of competition he faces. Although it is sometimes mentally and physically challenging, he loves the thrill of being on the field.

Andrew is also part of an executive team that runs MakeBU, best associated with the BU Hackathon — an event where students come together to put their skills to practice to hack, innovate, and create a functioning project within 24 hours. With big goals in mind, Andrew intends to make each year bigger and better than ever!

Fun Story: Andrew took his high school textbooks and did his homework on the second floor of Mugar to see if he liked BU. Fast forward a year, he’s now happily a Terrier!
