MLK Day: Show Us Your Passion Video Contest

What is your passion? What would you do to save the world? What would you do if every resource you had to make a better world was available to you?

Capture those ideas in a 4 minute video and share them with us. The video doesn’t need to be fancy – your remarks and delivery will tell the tale. The best two student submissions will be awarded the chance to present at Boston University’s MLK Day celebration on Monday, January 16, 2012. In addition, cash prizes may be awarded. (Entering the contest is open to the general public, but prizes can only go to BU students.)

How To Enter

  • Create a video addressing the above questions regarding passion no longer than 4 minutes in length
  • Upload the video to YouTube or Vimeo.
  • Send the link to the video, your full name and email address to dos@bu.edu. Please use the subject line “DOS MLK Video Submission.”

Rules

  • Submissions become the property of Boston University, and all submissions may be shown in some form to promote or during the January 16, 2012 MLK celebration.

  • Entries must adhere to standards of civil discussion and behavior.

About Boston University’s MLK Day Celebration

Boston University’s annual ceremony is one of the largest in the City of Boston. It routinely draws over 1000 attendees from throughout the community. Dr. King was an alumnus of BU, and we seek to honor him with a vibrant and contemporary ceremony that brings his social justice message to today’s young people. 2012’s event is tentatively called “Manifest Our Destiny” and will be an artistic representation of how one’s passion can change the world. It will be held Monday, January 16, 2012 at 1pm in Metcalf Hall. It is open to the entire University community and the general public.
