Terriers Connect training for Students

The Terriers Connect training program teaches students to identify signs of distress, develop effective skills for communicating with and supporting their peers, and provide accurate information about referrals to mental health professionals. Terriers Connect is committed to creating a community at Boston University that understands that the conversations that surround mental health are hard, but necessary. This two-hour, interactive training program includes: * Review of college student mental health statistics and facts * Discussion of warning signs that a peer may be struggling * Instruction on how to refer friends and classmates to mental health professionals * Review of effective communication and relationship-building skills * Participation in experiential exercises Students who participate in this training can receive SAO credit for The Square.
