Film Screening & Director Talk: Nossos Mortos Têm Voz

This documentary is based on the testimonies of the mothers and family victims of state violence in the Baixada Fluminense. The intention of the filmmakers is to rescue the memory of these interrupted lives by bringing a critical view of the State’s actions through the police in the Baixada Fluminense, especially with regard to violence against young blacks.

Direction and screenplay: Fernando Sousa & Gabriel Barbosa. The film is in Portuguese with English subtitles.

The screening will be followed by a conversation with the director, moderated by Etyelle Pinheiro de Araujo.
