Congrats Dr. Nia Bartolucci on a successful PhD Defense!
Nia Bartolucci, advised by Dr. Wally Fulweiler, has successfully defended her PhD dissertation titled, “Anthropogenic Impacts on Carbon and Nitrogen Cycling in Vegetated Coastal Ecosystems: Implications for Ecosystem Function and Resilience.”
Nia graduated magna cum laude from Mount Holyoke College in 2017 with a BA in Environmental Studies, concentrating on ecosystem science. Supported by the NOAA Margaret A. Davidson Fellowship and the Clare Booth Luce Scholarship, her doctoral research focused on enhancing the resilience of coastal wetlands to rising sea levels in New England. Specifically, her dissertation examined the effects of thin-layer placement of sediment (TLP), a salt marsh resiliency strategy, on salt marsh biogeochemistry and ecosystem health.
Congratulations, Dr. Bartolucci! We are incredibly proud of your achievements and excited to see the impactful work you will continue to do in the future!
