PhD Candidate

Alvaro Contreras Mellado is a PhD candidate in Economics at Boston University. His main research interests lie in the intersection between Macro-Finance and Industrial Organization, particularly on how market structure may affect macroeconomic stability and welfare.

Prior to starting his PhD in Economics, Alvaro worked in the Treasury Department of the Ministry of Economics and Finance of Peru and in the Economic Studies Area at APOYO Consultoria, a Peruvian think tank and advisory firm.
