Mary Erica Zimmer Awarded Bursary for DiXiT Course

Congratulations to doctoral candidate Mary Erica Zimmer, who has been awarded a bursary by the Digital Scholarly Editions Initial Training Network (DiXiT) to participate in its sixth annual Medieval and Modern Manuscript Studies in the Digital Age (MMSDA) course.

The one-week course will take place from 2–6 May 2016 and is run by DiXiT with the Institute of English Studies (London), the University of Cambridge, the Warburg Institute, and King’s College London.

Catherine Ahearn Receives a Graduate Internship with the CITL

Congratulations to doctoral candidate Catherine Ahearn, who will work for the Center for Interdisciplinary Teaching and Learning in the fall 2016 semester as a teacher-in-training. The graduate teacher training program pairs her with a mentor in the College of General Studies and will focus on developing teaching skills at the undergraduate level.

Catherine Ahearn Receives a Graduate Research Abroad Fellowship

Doctoral candidate Catherine Ahearn has been awarded one of this year's GRAF stipends to fund her dissertation research in Dublin for this spring 2016 semester. While in Dublin she is working with the archives at the National Library of Ireland, Trinity College, and University College Dublin.

Catherine Ahearn Presents at III International Flann O’Brien Conference

Doctoral candidate Catherine Ahearn attended the III International Flann O'Brien Conference in Prague this September. While there she presented a paper on publishing Cruiskeen Lawn, the column O'Brien wrote in the Irish Times under the pseudonym Myles na gCopaleen, in a way that reflects both its context within the paper and its metamorphoses over nearly three decades. Her report on the conference is forthcoming in the James Joyce Quarterly.

Congratulations to Mary Erica Zimmer, PhD Candidate at The Editorial Institute, for her funded participation in two recent scholarly programs at the Folger Shakespeare Library: the Spring Symposium on "Shakespeare's Language," organized by Lynne Magnusson, and the National Endowment for the Humanities "Early Modern Digital Agendas: Advanced Topics" Summer Institute, led by Jonathan Hope. She is grateful to both the NEH and the Folger for their generous support.

The Autobiography of Mark Twain, Volume 3: Institute Alumni Ohge & Gagel, Associate Editors

Mary Erica Zimmer Awarded Digital Pedagogy Institute Scholarship

Congratulations to Mary Erica Zimmer, PhD Candidate in The Editorial Institute at Boston University, for having received a travel scholarship to participate in the 2015 Digital Pedagogy Institute in Toronto, Canada. The SSHRC-funded Institute will explore the potential impact of digital pedagogies on students' experiences. It will be co-hosted by the University of Toronto Scarborough Library, Brock University, and Ryerson University.
