Cold Stress

Additional Resources:

EHS has launched a training that is dedicated to Cold Stress  in BioRAFT.  If you have not already completed this training please be sure to do so by clicking on this link.  In addition to the information provided above the NIOSH Fast Facts handout about Cold Stress is also a great resource which covers not only the signs and symptoms but also the appropriate response in each scenario.  Another valuable resource is American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) developed Work/Warm-up schedule for a 4-hour shift that takes both air temperature and wind speed into account, to provide recommendations on scheduling work breaks and ceasing non-emergency work.    THE CDC/NIOSH handout on PPE and working in the Cold is another great resource.
