Update on Central Campus Power Outage – 6/3/24
The power outage affecting the buildings from 675-775 Commonwealth Avenue and 700 Commonwealth Avenue continues. Eversource is working to restore power as quickly as possible with help from BU Facilities. There will be a phased restoration of power to the buildings affected, and power is expected to be restored to all buildings by 6 PM tonight (June 3, 2024).
Departments located in affected buildings should have activated their continuity of operations (COOP) plans and find alternate locations to work.
If you have classes tonight in the affected buildings, please contact your professor to see if your class will be held.
All dining and retail locations at 700 Commonwealth Avenue (Warren Towers) and 775 Commonwealth Avenue (GSU) will be closed for the remainder of the day. Mugar Library will also be closed. Marciano Commons (100 Bay State Road) is available for dining.
The first-floor lobby of the Center for Computing & Data Sciences (665 Commonwealth Avenue) is available as a cooling center until 10 PM.
