Emergency Management has revised the University’s response plan for major infectious diseases, including roles and responsibilities of departments that may be involved in a coordinated response and recovery operations as well as the safety of the University community is maintained.
EM coordinates a comprehensive emergency management program that encompasses a full range of leadership and governance structures designed to prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from threats, emergencies, or disasters that could disrupt the University’s operations.
The Major Infectious Disease Risk Annex, the first new chapter of the University’s Emergency Response Plan, describes the roles and responsibilities of various University departments involved in managing potential threats to the public health, safety, and welfare of the University in the event of a potential emerging pandemic disease outbreak. This Annex lists how potential pandemic disease threats are monitored and communicated to the University community and how University functions involved in threat management will implement a coordinated response in order to ensure continuity of University operations.
This annex provides an organizational structure to manage emergencies and disasters that require response from multiple University departments that pose major risks to life and/or property on a potentially pandemic scale.
