Klapperich Elected to BBJ’s Power 50 for 2020

This year’s POWER 50 recognizes leaders who have met the extraordinary challenges of this extraordinary year.

Professor Cathie Klapperich

Professor Catherine Klapperich is included in The Boston Business Journal’s 2020 list “Extraordinary Year, Extraordinary People: Boston Business Journal’s Power 50.” Prof. Klapperich is vice chair of biomedical engineering at BU, and founding director of BU’s Precision Diagnostics Center. This year she spearheaded the creation of BU’s extremely successful COVID testing program.

Each year the Boston Business Journal identifies the Power 50 – the most influential and impactful people in our city. This year’s Power 50 takes on a different title and goal, to recognize those people whose influence, innovation, commitment, and courage are making a difference in the community during an extraordinary time. The list honors those who make the news, are most admired, impact our community and economy.

“Within the Greater Boston business community, there are many extraordinary leaders who have met the extraordinary challenges of this year head on.  They include biotech professionals racing to create a vaccine that can safely protect billions from the Covid-19 virus and health care professionals helping to treat the sick, bankers hastening to connect small businesses with federal aid and community and higher education leaders leading the charge on a reenergized movement toward equality.”
