Worth More: BU Engineering Ranked #8 in Mid-Career Salary

Engineering has a reputation for being a lucrative major, but Boston University College of Engineering graduates experience an even greater return on their investment, according to a new report. PayScale, the world’s largest database of individual salary profiles, has ranked the Boston University College of Engineering #8 in its annual list of the best undergraduate engineering schools by salary potential.
Featured in a recent Business Insider article, the Payscale ranking places mid-career salaries of Boston University College of Engineering graduates near the top of 207 engineering schools nationally. This ranking is just the latest plaudit for BU Engineering, which US News and World Report ranked #35 on its list of best graduate engineering programs nationwide.
“This recognition is tremendous validation of the value of a Boston University engineering degree,” said Dean Kenneth R. Lutchen. “It is another indicator that our graduates are highly successful in their careers and are being well rewarded for their efforts to improve society.”
The PayScale report put the average mid-career salary of a Boston University engineering graduate at $138,000.
