Application Instructions

The application for the 2024 Rising Stars in Engineering in Health Workshop, co-hosted by Boston University, Cornell University, Columbia University, and Johns Hopkins University, is now open!

Now in its fifth year, the two-day interactive workshop on Boston University’s main campus in Boston, MA, will feature rapid-fire research talks, educational presentations, mock interviews, and panel discussions with faculty. Our goal is to recognize, prepare, and connect the next generation of leaders working at the interface of engineering and biomedicine.

We welcome applicants who are postdoctoral fellows, research scientists, or graduate students planning to apply for faculty positions within two years. We especially encourage applicants from groups historically underrepresented in STEM disciplines. Previous workshop applicants are encouraged to reapply.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows, or research scientists who plan to seek a faculty position in engineering and/or biomedicine within the next two years (positions starting Fall 2025).

Selection:

Twenty Rising Stars will be selected from the application pool as workshop participants and presenters.
