RASTIC
The new Robotics & Autonomous Systems Teaching and Innovation Center (RASTIC) boasts state-of-the-art equipment for industry-aligned training and hands-on learning.
RASTIC is now open at 730 Commonwealth Avenue
With a $9M capital investment from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, and Boston University, and ongoing support from an array of robotics industry partners, RASTIC allows students to expand and hone their robotics skills, so they are ready to make an immediate impact in their classes and in the workplace. RASTIC is a robotics hub, providing an innovation space, a thriving community, and a forum for intimate tech talks, industry days, career fairs, research exchange, and networking, among companies, students, faculty, investors, and other industry stakeholders.
In RASTIC, students can design, build, and test all kinds of robots, from simple consumer ‘bots to GPU-fueled, AI-powered cutting-edge marvels. Aerial and ground-based robots can navigate dynamic landscapes, assisted by Hollywood-grade motion-capture technology. Students can custom-mold silicon to create the flexible robots that are rapidly emerging in medicine, Industry 4.0, and beyond.
Whether applying knowledge gained in a course or pursuing a passion project outside the curriculum, RASTIC resources are open to all College of Engineering students, and staff are available to provide guidance and mentoring.
