The College of Engineering incorporates multiple opportunities for experiential learning to prepare students for their careers after graduation. Students in all master’s programs can choose the “with Engineering Practice” degree option. This is a valuable opportunity to go beyond theory and dive headfirst into real-world application by integrating a paid internship into their master’s program. This isn’t just an internship, it’s an extension of your education.

How does with Engineering Practice work?

  • Students will register for a 0-credit course and work closely with a faculty advisor to ensure their internship aligns with their academic goals and career aspirations. Throughout the internship, students will periodically check in with their academic advisor and submit a final report on their experience.
  • Students selecting this degree option will earn their degree with engineering practice (e.g., Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with Engineering Practice).
  • Both domestic and international students will be eligible to select this degree option. International students must have completed two terms in full-time status to be eligible to begin an internship in the United States.
