Energy, Sustainability & Climate
How can we meet the world’s energy needs, without destroying the world?
Energy production is the biggest source of greenhouse gas emissions, and it will take a full range of expertise to transform the world’s power grid. That’s why at BU College of Engineering, teams of researchers with experience in materials synthesis, fluid mechanics, semiconductor physics, data science, and other fields have come together to solve this pressing problem. These engineers are working on carbon mitigation, smart grids and transportation, green and secure distributed energy generation and storage, and other solutions that are affordable, equitable, and environmentally sustainable. Our standard of living depends on collaborations like these—and so do many lives.
