CNC Milling

Programming Resources: Computer Automated Manufacturing (CAM)

EPIC is equipped with FIVE advanced HAAS CNC milling machines designed for precision machining of both plastics and metals. Each machine has unique capabilities and fixturing options to support a wide range of manufacturing needs.

HAAS CM-1
  • Work Envelope: 12″ (X) × 10″ (Y) × 14″ (Z)
  • Current Setup: Equipped with a flat fixture plate, this machine is dedicated exclusively to machining plastics.
  • Purpose: Ideal for high-precision, small-part prototyping where fine detail and tight tolerances are required.
HAAS VF-2
  • Work Envelope: 30″ (X) × 16″ (Y) × 20″ (Z)
  • Versatile Fixturing Configurations:
    • Standard Vice and/or 4th Axis – Supports the machining of both metals and plastics with rotary axis capability for complex geometry.
    • Flat Fixture Plate (Plastics Only) – Used for secure, low-profile clamping of plastic sheets or blocks.
    • Flat Fixture Plate with Bolt Holes — This plate allows for the attachment of custom metal plates, vices, or workpieces and is compatible with both metals and plastics.
    • 6-Inch Vice / 10-Inch 6-Jaw Chuck – Heavy-duty work holding suitable for metals and plastics, offering strong grip for larger or irregularly shaped parts.

We have several onboarding projects to help those new to programming, checkout our starter projects. The Coaster project is a good place to begin.
