Event Highlights: Two Case Studies for Chinese Involvement in Southern Europe
This presentation by Philippe Le Corre, Research Fellow with the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government and the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation at the Harvard Kennedy School, is part of a virtual conference series titled “Assessing China’s Belt and Road Initiative,” an initiative of BU’s Pardee School of Global Studies to examine the economic, social, political, and security impacts of China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Since the BRI cuts across regions and topics, all seven of the Pardee School’s regional and thematic centers are sponsoring events related to their particular focus, including book launches, talks, and interviews.
This event, hosted by the Center for the Study of Europe, took place on Friday, April 16, 2021. Amb. Vesko Garcevic, Professor of the Practice of International Relations at the Pardee School, and Dimitris Skiadas, Visiting Researcher at the Center for the Study of Europe, joined as discussants. The event was moderated by Dr. Grant Rhode, an affiliated scholar of BU’s Center for the Study of Asia and series convener.
