The Institute for Excellence in Teaching & Learning is pleased to be in partnership with the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U), which launched an inaugural Institute on AI, Pedagogy and the Curriculum. The new AAC&U Institute is designed to help universities respond effectively to the challenges and opportunities that artificial intelligence presents for courses and curricula.
Boston University is one of approximately 124 participating institutions working with the AAC&U to gain access to mentorship and collaboration with other campuses – and an opportunity to engage in pedagogical and curricular reform.
The Institute for Excellence in Teaching & Learning has assembled a group of faculty and staff across BU to engage in this year-long project, which concludes in April 2025. The Institute has opportunities to receive mentoring from AAC&U coaches through individual meetings as well as discussions with groups from several other universities.
Our work includes a review of several key areas that relate to AI in teaching in learning:
- Digital Health
- Media
- Foundational AI Applications
- AI for Tutoring & Collaboration
- AI Literacy Framework Development
