About Us
Our story:
FAIR Student Loans was born from a strategic partnership between the Lumina Foundation, the Boston University Center for Antiracist Research, and the Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. This collaboration aims to support projects explicitly identifying and implementing equitable practices in higher education and beyond.
Our team is dedicated to the following core objectives:
- Evaluating Equity in State and Federal Government Policies and Practices: We carefully evaluate programs to assess how they affect racial equity. We aim to identify gaps and areas needing improvement to ensure policies are fair and just for all communities.
- Identifying Successful Equitable Practices and Interventions: Our research focuses on what works, providing a blueprint for meaningful change. By examining and highlighting effective, equitable practices and interventions, we aim to showcase models that can be replicated and adapted in various contexts.
- Providing Policy Resources Resources: We offer policy resources to empower and advocate for communities experiencing inequality. Informing policymakers of more equitable policies leads to developing new resources to foster economic justice and freedom.
Through our efforts, we strive to foster accessibility, inclusivity, and reform in student loan forgiveness and beyond. Join us in our mission to create a more equitable and just society.
