March 2019 Employees of the Month
We are pleased to announce the March 2019 Employees of the Month!
Our student employees play a big part in making sure that your experiences at FitRec are nothing short of amazing. It’s certainly not easy balancing work and school, but our students make it look easy! We appreciate all of the hard work they put in and their great attitudes. Each month, full-time staff members from various departments nominate student workers who have shown exemplary work ethic within the past month. The winners for this month will receive gift bags, which include T-Anthony’s gift certificates and FitRec swag. If you see the winners around FitRec (or anywhere else on campus!), make sure to congratulate them!
Aquatics: Tim Zhu
Tim has worked very hard helping us with EMS pool training, working every single weekend and picking up many hours over spring break. Tim’s skill as a lifeguard instructor has been extremely helpful during training times and has been an example to all guards. Thank you, Tim, for all of your hard work.
Climbing: Emily Rubio
Emily is hard-working and always takes the extra step to keep the Climbing Wall professional and organized. She is a great communicator with visitors, co-workers and management. She is very responsible and leads by example, and we’re glad to have her as a Climbing Instructor!
Intramurals: Andrew Dudley
Andrew “The Mule” Dudley is a first-year referee for the intramural department, and it hasn’t taken very long for him to be recognized as one of the hardest working individuals on our staff. His dedication to the job is unrivaled and unquestionable, as he works so many shifts, and quite frankly, we’re unsure if he is in fact enrolled in classes. However, what truly sets him apart is his ability to soak up information like a sponge and apply what he’s just learned to a real-life situation practically immediately. We are all truly blessed to share a court with such an outstanding official, and we will follow his career with great interest.
Admin: Allison Swider
Allison started working as a dance office assistant her freshman year. She has become an invaluable member of the office staff and her graduation will leave a big hole. She has become adept at reading Micki’s notes, sometimes her mind, and anticipating what needs to be done for the credit and noncredit programs, special events, and/or helping with the Reach program. Over the years, she has talked more people into taking tutu selfies at the promotional table in the lobby than anyone else. She’s even subbed as a youth dance assistant teacher on the weekends. Always a good sport, she has been a “Jill” of all trades and dance matters. Thank you, Allison.
Pro Shop: Gabby Morales
Gabby has been super reliable and often displays excellent communication skills. Great work!
Facilities: Branden Alberts
Branden has consistently gone above and beyond. He’s incredibly helpful towards patrons and colleagues alike. Thanks, Branden!
EMS: Courtney Arch
Courtney has always gone above and beyond with her patient care and interactions. She demonstrates a strong understanding of EMS protocols that she combines with a positive attitude to effectively treat patients. We missed Courtney when she was abroad last semester and we’re glad she is back!
Fitness: Lela Stemple
Lela is a first year ATC/DPT who is one of our top student managers. Lela typically works the opening shift and always comes in at 5:45 am ready to work with a smile on her face. She is dedicated to maintaining the high level of customer care in which we pride ourselves at FitRec. Lela also loves honeybees, which makes sense considering that she is one of the sweetest people ever.
