November 2019 Student Employees of the Month

We are pleased to announce the November 2019 Employees of the Month!

Our student employees play a big part in making sure that your experiences at FitRec are nothing short of amazing. It’s certainly not easy balancing work and school, but our students make it look easy! We appreciate all of the hard work they put in and their great attitudes. Each month, full-time staff members from various departments nominate student workers who have shown exemplary work ethic within the past month. The winners for this month will receive gift bags, which include T-Anthony’s gift certificates and FitRec swag. If you see the winners around FitRec (or anywhere else on campus!), make sure to congratulate them!

Aquatics: Aaron Sandhu

Aaron has been an exemplary lifeguard and swim instructor for the entirety of the fall semester. His kindness to his fellow employees helps to implement a positive culture for all in the Aquatics office. Aaron is always willing to go the extra mile in communicating with his private lesson clients and picking up emergency coverage shifts.

Climbing: Weston Koenn

Weston is Head Routesetter at the climbing wall and he also instructs climbing classes and leads outdoor trips. Weston has worked earnestly to build a routesetting team that is creative and collaborative. His motivation and growth mindset make him a great team member!

EMS: Will Forbush

Despite being one of the newest members of the Operations staff, he has already demonstrated his proficiency as an EMT while working an intense call with other members of the BUEMS team. Not only are his skills in the field outstanding, but he reports his patient care with impressive documentation. Keep up the great work, Will!

Facilities: Alexa Panetti

Alexa has been an employee at FitRec for the past 4 years while also being an active member of Boston University’s Cheerleading Team.  Alexa is a vibrant, hard worker who has become a great role model for her coworkers. She always has a smile on her face and outstanding customer service skills – one of the many reasons her peers love working with her!

Fitness: Alexis Gebbia

From day one working at the Fitness Center, Alexis has distinguished herself as one of our most hardworking employees. She is always taking the initiative to complete tasks prior to being assigned them and is constantly performing her role to the best of her ability. Alexis has integrated her powerlifting background into the Fitness Center, teaching other employees about lifting and making patrons feel welcome at the gym.

Intramurals: Will Graham

Will is one our soccer supervisors and has been a great help this past semester. He is currently a junior and is probably one of our best soccer supervisors on staff. On the field, he is a leader, mentor and role model to not only our new refs, but also our returning referees. He is always willing to step up when needed and is someone the department can always count on. Congratulations, Will, and here is to many more excellent semesters.

PERD (Children’s and Family Programming): Luisana Henriquez

In just two short years, Luisana has excelled from her role as a Camp Counselor to a top notch Children’s Programming supervisor and Camp Executive Assistant. Luisana is one-of-a-kind and always available to assist wherever she is needed. Due to her strong leadership skills, she has contributed to the success and growth of our Vacation and Camp programs.  Congratulations to one of FitRec’s finest!

Pro Shop: Melissa Gibble

Melissa has improved tremendously from her first year with us and has grown into a strong leader for her peers. Melissa has many characteristics that make her a great employee, a few being leading by example, having a great, positive attitude and exceptional customer service skills. Many students have said she is a pleasure to work with.
