The person in this position is responsible for the safety of all swimmers during recreational swim hours, classes, and special events.
This role is expected to:
- Apply preventative lifeguarding techniques to ensure a safe aquatic environment
- Education patrons on and enforce all aquatic rules and policies
- Provide top notch customer service to all patrons and users of the aquatic spaces
- Recognize and respond to emergencies in the aquatic area

Sailing Instructor - Camp Terrier

Graduate Assistant

Supporting the advertising and publicity efforts for FitRec’s programs and facilities, this role offers a flexible 20-hour workweek. It includes a tuition remission of eight credits per semester along with a $10,000 stipend paid over nine months. Working closely with the Assistant Marketing Manager and Manager of Marketing, the Graduate Assistant will assist with creating, designing, and supervising digital assets such as digital signage, social media graphics, and web content. They will contribute to FitRec’s overall marketing strategy, including social media scanning and idea generation, and help lead the student marketing team by managing project timelines and coordinating video shoots. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Public Relations, Advertising, Journalism, Computer Science, Marketing, or a related field, along with at least one year of experience in graphic design. Strong writing and editing skills, proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Canva, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively are required. Supervisory experience and previous coursework or work in marketing, writing, or communication are preferred. Candidates must be creative, highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A portfolio of creative work will be required during the interview process, and applicants must be accepted into a graduate degree program at Boston University to be eligible for this position.

Squash Instructor

The Department of Physical Education, Recreation and Dance seeks part-time lead and assistant squash instructors for the Adult Recreational Squash program. Responsibilities include designing progressive lessons for beginning through intermediate students, teaching skills and game strategy, providing drills and game play, building a love of the sport, and working in close communication with other instructors.
Desired Qualifications
- 1 – 2 years of squash teaching experience
- Competitive experience at a high school level or above
- Ability to teach up to an intermediate level as demonstrated in a tryout
