Sports & Recreation: Sailing Focus
Ages 10 – 13
Does your camper want to learn to sail on their own? Campers in these groups will learn all aspects of sailing, including terminology, knot-tying, rigging, and de-rigging, and capsize safety. Sailors of all abilities are welcome, and no prior sailing experience is necessary.
All sailing focus campers will participate in daily recreational swim, and a variety of games and activities in the gym each morning, then spend the afternoon on the Charles River. Pending open space at the climbing wall, Sailing Camp participants may also be able to climb during the week. Weather permitting, lunch will be eaten outside each day. Campers will be divided into groups based on age and sailing experience as necessary and appropriate. Indoor activities will be arranged in the event of inclement weather.
*Please note to participate in the sailing program, the camper must be at a level 4 swimming status as recommended by the American Red Cross Standards, and as evaluated by our aquatics staff. This swim assessment will be conducted on their first day of camp.
