Kate Lindsey is an Affiliate Faculty Member at the Boston University Global Development Policy Center, an Assistant Professor in the Linguistics Department at Boston University. She is a researcher focused on multilingual language policies in Papua New Guinea, one of the most linguistically diverse countries in the world. Her research has taken her to Daru, the administrative capital of Western Province, where she seeks to bridge the gap in the education system by developing formalized writing systems for the languages without them and creating literacy materials for elementary education. As an Affiliate Faculty Member, she hopes to learn from other policy-oriented researchers and discuss issues related to language policy and education.
