Waqas Munir is a graduate of the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship program at Boston University (2017-2018), a Fulbright initiative by US State Department which brings distinguished mid-career professionals to United States to spend a year for professional development. During his fellowship, he worked as a Research Fellow with the Global Policy Development Center at Boston University where his research focused on scaling up lending at multi-lateral development banks, benefits and cost of expanding and optimizing balance sheet. Following the completion of the fellowship, Mr. Munir returned to Pakistan to pursue his passion to improve the capital markets by enhancing the quality of services and establishing best practices in the field of credit ratings. He carries more than 10 years of experience in financial services sector and currently works with an affiliate of Japan Credit Rating Agency where he supervises rating assignments across a diversified range of sectors including corporates, financial institutions, sovereigns and sub-sovereigns both within and outside Pakistan. He graduated with Distinction in Finance from Manchester Business School and is a certified Financial Risk Manager.
