Postdoctoral Fellow Rebecca Ray presents on international investment trends in Latin America

GDP Center Postdoctoral Fellow Rebecca Ray is in Quito this week to speak at a joint workshop held by DAR , International Senior Lawyers Project, and Flacso Ecuador. She delivered her presentation titled, “China en América Latina: Implicaciones socio-ambientales de inversión en infraestructura (China in Latin America: Social and Environmental Dimensions of Infrastructure Investment)” on June 6, 2018.

She spoke on international investment trends, particularly Chinese investment, and the resulting implications for civil society agendas on the environment and human rights in Latin America.

Rebecca Ray has focused her research with the GDP Center GEGI Initiative on Latin America, including the annual China-Latin America Economic Bulletin series, the book project China and Sustainable Development in Latin America: the Social and Environmental Dimension, and her current project, Safeguarding Sustainable Development in the Andean Amazon.
