Urwah Khan is a Post-doctoral Research Fellow with the Global Economic Governance Initiative. Since 2020, Urwah Khan has been working with the Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department of the Asian Development Bank as a Research Consultant focusing on East Asia and Pacific Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Previously, he worked with the Partnership on Sustainable Low Carbon Transport as an economist. He received his PhD from Nagoya University, Japan as a Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholar in 2022. In 2021, he was selected for the International Monetary Fund Youth Fellowship Program. He has experience in intergovernmental consultations on the decarbonization of the transport and energy sector. From 2015 to 2017, Mr. Khan worked in the private sector focusing on infrastructure and energy sector projects in Pakistan.
