Yongzhong Wang is a Non-Resident Senior Fellow for the Global China Initiative at the Boston University Global Development Policy Center. He is also the Director and Senior Fellow for the Department of International Commodity at the Institute of World Economics and Politics (IWEP), and the National Institute for Global Strategies (NIGS), Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). He is a Professor with the School of International Politics and Economics at the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He is a member of the China Society of World Economics and the China Society of Emerging Economics.

His research interests cover global commodity market, international investment, energy economics and monetary economics. He had conducted visiting studies at the Japan Center for Economic Research and Boston University. He has published two books and dozens of academic papers and research reports and has hosted around 20 research projects supported by Chinese governments, research institutions and enterprises. He has given many lectures to the officials from developing countries on China’s experience on reform, opening-up and economic development under the Belt and Road Initiative.
