Places to swim by the lake.

It is normally warm enough to swim in the lake from May to October. In Lake Geneva you must only swim in the designated areas and stay away from the shipping lanes.

Genève Plage – Quai de Cologny.

Further along the lake. 50 meter pool, slides, lawn, diving boards, access to lake, aqua fitness, water sports, bar, restaurant. Entry 5chf.

Plage des Eaux-Vives – Quai Gustave Ador.

Turn right on the residence side of the lake (Rive Gauche) and walk 10 minutes. Free access – showers & toilets

Bains des Pâquis – Quai du Mont Blanc 30 On the other side of the lake (Rive Droite)

Diving platforms, bar and restaurant.

PLAGE D’HERMANCE – rue du Nord Hermance

A very nice beach by the picturesque village of Hermance. Lawn with shingle beach, showers, bar-restaurant and WCs. Entry 4chf. Take the E bus to Hermance(30 minute bus ride) and then go left , or one hour with the CGN boat from the Jardin Anglais.

SWIMMING POOLS

Geneva offers some excellent and not too expensive swimming pools. These pools will insist on proper swimming attire (not beach shorts). You may also need to bring your own padlock for the lockers. The outdoor pools are normally open from May until into October.
