Swasti offers a range of exciting internship opportunities for current & recent postgraduate students from all disciplines to gain insights into public health and development.
About the organization
Swasti is a health resource centre that enhances health and wellbeing through innovation, particularly for the marginalized. We aim to advance health by mobilizing communities to better address their healthcare priorities. We bring together an understanding of the health sector combined with cross-sectoral perspectives that enable us to address linkages between livelihoods, health, education, etc.
Swasti is based out of India, with its headquarters in Bangalore and offices spread across the country. We work across the South and South East Asian Region and parts of Africa.
Swasti has three teams:
Innovative Models for Impact Team which develops and demonstrates effective, innovative, replicable and sustainable development models for complex public health challenges. We have models across a range of issues – women’s empowerment, nutrition, social protection, stigma reduction, health access, etc.
Knowledge Management & Policy Shaping Team which contributes to public health knowledge and policies by being a knowledge leader in critical niche areas such as HIV, human resources for health, social protection, water and sanitation. This is done through research, documentation and dissemination and development of knowledge capsules, learning sessions and a knowledge repository. Swasti works with both communities and other development partners to influence and shape policy at state and national levels through generation of policy notes and advocacy in key decision-making bodies & forums.
Partnership for Results Team which works closely with development partners to understands their aspirations, challenges and provides need based, timely and quality support with a focus on their achieving stated results. The support provided includes design and planning, advisory and mentoring, strengthening management systems, research, reviews, evaluations, impact assessments; documentation and communication; capacity building; organizational development & institutional transformation. Partnership for Results Team has delivered over 150 assignments in over 20 countries.
